Invisalign Clear Aligner Options
Invisalign Treatment for Children and Teens
Easy oral hygiene maintenance with Invisalign makes it a great treatment option for children and teens.
Because there are different bite issues common among teenagers, Invisalign treatment for teens is sometimes more complex than it is with adults. However, Invisalign Treatment for teens can still be very effective.
Each approach is customized to the patient as each teen’s bite issue is unique. We’ll design a treatment plan using 3D computer technology that allows you to see the projected outcome of the treatment even before it begins.
What’s more, most Invisalign patients complete their treatment sooner than traditional braces—as few as 12 months compared to 24! Your teen can get the same results as traditional braces, but in less time, and with less fuss!
Braces treatment can impact different teens in different ways. For example, some enjoy their “tin grin” look, especially when they’re able to pick out their favorite color ties. Others’ self-confidence can suffer under the weight of that 2-year commitment.
For the latter group, Invisalign treatment can be ideal because they know their teeth are growing straighter every day, without the fear of flashing a smile full of braces. Finally, Invisalign treatment means shorter visits to our offices because there are no wires to adjust or brackets to maintain.
Invisalign for Adults
The flexibility to remove the Invisalign clear aligners while you eat, brush, or during special occasions make it a top choice for adults.
Invisalign is very well suited for the active lifestyles of most adults today. The Invisalign aligners are comfortable and easy to use, fitting perfectly over your teeth, and you only need to remove them to eat and do your regular oral hygiene. Additionally, if you have a special occasion to attend, you have the flexibility to remove the aligners.
Unlike a restrictive diet with traditional braces, Invisalign treatment gives you more freedom. What’s more, Invisalign treatment is about the same price as regular braces, and we can work with you and your insurance to come up with a payment plan that suits your budget.
How do I clean Invisalign aligners?
- Always rinse your aligners as soon as they are removed from your mouth. It is recommended that you soak your aligner trays with the Invisalign brand crystal cleaning solution every day. This solution removes the bacteria from the aligners.
- Use a soft bristle toothbrush (not your toothbrush that you use daily) to lightly sweep away any debris that remains after the soak.
After soaking, rinse off the aligners and place back in your mouth.
How long do I wear each set of aligners?
This varies according to your treatment plan. Generally, aligners are worn for two weeks and exchanged for the next set. In some cases, aligners may be worn for as little as a week before they’re switched out. This will depend on your specific treatment plan.
Does Invisalign fit an active lifestyle?
Invisalign treatment is a great choice for an active lifestyle! Your aligners can be worn during nearly any activity, removing them only for eating and cleaning. Invisalign aligners can be worn comfortably while playing sports. When it comes to contact sports, you can remove the aligner and wear a mouthguard that your orthodontist may recommend. Invisalign aligners can also be removed for special occasions if you prefer to do so.
What are the primary benefits of Invisalign?
Invisalign treatment is a popular choice because of many benefits:
- Clear aligners for more aesthetic appearance
- Comfortable as it is custom-made to fit your bite
- Affordable (about the same price as traditional metal braces)
- Faster treatment
- Less time spent at the orthodontist
- No restrictions for food
You can carry out oral hygiene routine much easier than with the traditional brackets and wires
How much time should I plan to spend at the Orthodontist with Invisalign?
With Invisalign treatment, you will need to schedule visits every four to six weeks for a quick check-up. These appointments are quite fast and easy, as there is no need to adjust brackets or wires.
What about Temporary Anchorage Devices (TADs) and Invisalign treatment? What are they, and will I need them?
Orthodontists used to face difficulties in controlling the adjustment of out-of-place teeth in patients with severe bite problems or missing teeth, as they required external anchor points via unsightly and inconvenient practices like headgear and external braces. TADs (Temporary Anchorage Devices) have since provided a solution.
By attaching an anchor to the jawbone, TADs eliminate the need for uncomfortable treatments and offer more precise orthodontic treatment for patients who need it. Not all patients require TADs. Your Busby & Webb Orthodontics doctor will determine if TADs are suitable for you during your consultation and provide advice.
